Herbs

We often get asked the question, "What can my husband take to help build up sperm?  There any many different herbs and vitamins that seemed to have helped others.  We offer this information here NOT as medical advice but only as friends talking about what has helped them.  PLEASE consult with your doctor before trying any herbs, supplements, etc.  If you feel you have an allergic reaction to anything, stop taking it immediately and contact your physician.

Selenium is perhaps one of the most powerful anti oxidants.  Take 200
micrograms a day.  Yes, it does smell bad, but it is worth it.

Zinc at 50 to 100mg each day will also improve sperm counts and
function.  Try to take tit at a different time than the selenium.

Vitamin C helps with healing.  Take 250 mg or more three times a day.

Coenzyme Q10, 50 mg taken once a day.

Vitamin E should be taken 4 to 5 days after the reversal.  It is
important to hold off for the first few days as it can cause mild
thinning of the blood and increase bleeding and bruising in the
immediate recovery period.  Once you start it, contiunue at 800 I.U.each day.

Multivitamin - one each day.

Panax Ginseng is considered helpful for sperm counts, though this is
less certain.

There are a number of other anti oxidants as well that
are propular including green tea, strawberries and red grapes.

Remember, the above suggestions are not specific medical advice.  In all circumstances
consult with your physician to tailor supplements and medications to your personal situation.
